The mission of the Psychiatry Research Team is (a) to identify disease-related neural circuits by using neuroimaging, neurophysiological , and behavioral data; (b) to develop psychiatry-oriented “translatable” brain translatable markers that can be measured using techniques common to humans and primates; (c) to characterize clinical relevance of brain circuits by circuit analysis and manipulation experiments using marmoset disease models; and finally,(d) to establish neural circuit markers useful for re-classification systems supplementary diagnostic markers, and innovative treatment strategies in psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, major depression, and bipolar disorder.
