Researchers identified a Tris-buffer-soluble, high-molecular-weight Aβ species, termed peak 1 Aβ, in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and model mice. Peak 1 Aβ acts as a seed for cerebral β-amyloidosis, providing new insights into amyloid pathology and highlighting a potential therapeutic target for Alzheimer’s disease.
