We investigated anesthesia-induced neural dynamics across six species, from humans to nematodes. Comprehensive time-series analysis revealed shortened intrinsic neural timescales and reduced interregional coordination under anesthesia, regardless of species or anesthetic agents. These findings identify spatiotemporal isolation as a conserved signature of anesthetized brain states.
