Remote Network for Cognitive Symptoms Derived from Tau Accumulation in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a prototypical non-Alzheimer’s tauopathy characterized by motor and cognitive impairments. By integrating highly sensitive tau PET with a normative functional connectome, we found that the pathological effects of anatomically heterogeneous tau deposits across patients converge on a common cortical network, whose disruption explains cognitive symptoms better than local pathology.
