High prevalence of tau pathologies in late-onset psychosis: A PET study
Aug 06, 2026
Using amyloid PET and tau PET with 18F-florzolotau, researchers demonstrated that patients with late-onset psychosis (LOP) exhibit significantly higher rates of both amyloid (35% vs 2%) and tau (65% vs 15%) positivity than controls. Various tau accumulation patterns observed in patients indicate that LOP may constitute a prodromal phase of diverse neurodegenerative disorders.
