Fingolimod reduces peripheral T cells but increases brain CD8⁺ T cells in P301S-tau transgenic mice, exacerbating tau pathology and neurodegeneration. These findings highlight CD8⁺ T cells as therapeutic targets for tauopathy and raise concerns about Fingolimod use in patients with multiple sclerosis predisposed to tauopathies.
