In this research, non-invasive MRI imaging data will be used to develop a simulation technology for virtual deep brain stimulation (DBS) and virtual transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy. This “digital brain” technology will be used to estimate the whole brain response prior to DBS surgery or TMS treatment in order to improve the effectiveness and safety of the treatment for patients.
