Investigation of a novel glutamate synthesis pathway in cortical excitatory neurons and its roles in neural activity

In this study, we investigate how glucose is used in the brain when neurons are actively functioning. We also aim to clarify how this usage is regulated by neuronal activity. Additionally, by using nerve cells and organoids derived from human iPS cells, we explore the role of this mechanism in human brain neurons.
