In this study, we propose innovative freestanding nanosheets as "next-generation soft cranial windows" for wide-field, long-term, and minimally invasive brain imaging. In particular, we herein provide innovative techniques instead of conventional cranial windows composed of coverslips under an interdisciplinary collaborative system of Medicine, Science, and Engineering.
